SCARS UNSEEN
Scars Unseen is a 'triumph of the human spirit' documentary, following three women who have overcome domestic violence and are paying it forward.
Scars Unseen aims to illuminate the power of healing, de-stigmatize victimhood, and encourage open communication about the causes, treatment, and prevention of domestic abuse.
Scars Unseen is a sponsored project of Film Independent, a 501(c)(3) non-profit independent media arts organization. Film Independent will receive grants for the charitable purposes of Scars Unseen, provide oversight to ensure that grant funds are used in accordance with grant agreements, and provide reports as required by the grantor. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Scars Unseen must be made payable to Film Independent and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

PROJECT TIMELINE
Scars Unseen was created, produced, and directed by She TV Media. It all began in 2018 when Meredith and Natalie pitched the documentary to the Film Independent & Loyola Marymount University Incubator Lab.

She TV Media completed a successful Seed & Spark crowdfunding campaign, raising over $46,000 for the project.
August 2019
The series' first three subjects were interviewed: Trish Steele, Maha Bodhi, & Adrienne Rouan.
